“You are a coward and a stinker, sir! I challenge you to a duel!”

“I won’t be there.”

“Why?”

“Because I am a coward and a stinker.”

The following text was kindly edited by Michael D. Sellers

When I’d read the first Burroughs’ Barsoom novel for the first time I was twelve or thirteen years old. I was already a fan of the character Tarzan and had been trying to find something new from this author almost every single day of my life. In fact, my first Barsoom book in reality was the second one, Gods of Mars. And I have to say that I didn’t have any problems with the strange names, circumstances and all the things that make modern audience grumble that it’s too complicated for them. Oh, that audience just lost the ability to read and understand books — that is the reason they prefer to see what they are used to seeing — something simple. And Stanton’s John Carter IS very simple. It’s just — it’s not simple enough, I suppose.

That’s exactly how I’ve always thought a real Elf girl looks like!

I don’t know who’s the author of this puc, but it’s great. So as a girl :)

Be brave, my brother writer

I’ve drawn a plan and a projection,
the hero’s name’s decided too.
Meanwhile my novel’s opening section
is finished, and I’ve looked it through
meticulously; in my fiction
there’s far too much of contradiction,
but I refuse to chop or change.
The censor’s tribute, I’ll arrange:
I’ll feed the journalists for dinner
fruits of my labour and my ink…
So now be off to Neva’s brink,
you newborn work, and like a winner
earn for me the rewards of fame –
misunderstanding, noise, and blame!

It feels like there are less and less reasons to write of what you think. People write what everybody else thinks. Or they write to shock, not to surprise, not to make think, not to make happy.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura and Michael Bay confirmed that there will be the fourth Transformers movie, it’s going to be a reboot, and Bay will direct it. Did anybody think the other way? :)

Of course, Bay will do it. Wether you like it or not, Transformers make money, big money, and nobody will say no if he or she is asked to make some more. Bay struggled, or he says he did, but Money is irresistable.

I liked the first movie, really. I liked Megan Fox, I liked Shia, the Autobots and Decepticons were awesome, my childhood’s dream came finally true. That was the greatest entertaining popcorn movie I have ever seen in my entire life. But the second film was a total and complete disaster. Too much of action, lousy dialogs, stupid jokes, and the only thing I could say something nice about was FX. And it was a huge suprise that the box-office of Revenge of the Fallen was almost $850,000,000!
Dark Side of the Moon was way better than the second movie, but not as awesome as the first one. Action was great, giant robot have finally started the full-scale war on humans’ turf, and it was as real as it could be in the given circumstances. The audience of the world pay more than a billion dollars to see it. So tell me, did anybody actually think that Paramount will stop doing the Transfromers movies? And Bay will decline their offer to continue? Ha.
Di Bonaventura says that they’re going ti reboot the franchise. Great idea! Call Damon Lindelof and pay him a lot to write a screenplay, he’s probably the best writer in Hollywood. I’m not sure about Bay. In my opinion, if it is a reboot, change the director. And the design of the robots. Make it authentic, like in TF: Generation 1 animated series! That’d be really cool, don’t you think so?

Wooden people of Bruno Walpoth

Italian artist Bruno Walpoth is known as an author of wooden sculptures. His works are so full of life, so lifelike and realistic that sometimes it scares. Walpoth’s creative genius is beyond any explanation, it is impossible to believe that this kind of accuracy and imagination is a result of mere study. One have to be born with The Gift. Take a look at some of his wooden people, but I’m warning you, the artist uses naked models for his works.
